Maeghan is sincerely honored to represent STM for All in the BMA Foundation's Dine and Dance with the Stars fund raising event. She made a promise 6 years ago that she would eventually dance, and that time has come.
She and her family came to the STM community eight years ago because of the STM for All program at St. Thomas Moore. Offering the most complete range of high quality educational and lifestyle assistance for families with challenged children in the area - STM for All also enables the other children in the family to attend the same school as their siblings in the program. Enrolling son Cameron and joining the community, Maeghan immediately became active in supporting STM and the STM for All program from that very first year.
Today, Maeghan is known for her service to the STM community at multiple levels. Her primary focus is the STM for All program where she has served as Chairperson for the six years. During her time in that role, the STM for All Board has raised over $100,000 to expand their service and outreach in several areas including latest technology for student learning. She has worked closely with Jerry and Mary Ellen over her tenure. Cameron has enjoyed having Mary Ellen as his Para at STM.
In addition to being a mother, wife, volunteer and active member in the STM community, Maeghan enjoys a professional life as Director of Corporate Training and Development for the Parisi and Mother Earth Coffee organization.
Maeghan's relationship with STM is truly a family affair. In addition to the boys (Cameron -
now 8th grade and Henry 3rd grade), husband Patrick actively co-parents the boys with her, freeing up time for her to contribute to the STM for All program. Patrick (member of Knights of Columbus) is also active at STM volunteering his time to various committees and helping to run special events.
Maeghan will be dancing with Jim MacAuley.
Jim has been a ballroom dancer and instructor for almost 20 years, he is one of the most experienced teachers that Kansas City has to offer. Jim has spent half his lifetime absorbing as much information as possible, having trained in American Rhythm, Smooth, International Latin, and Standard has made him an exceptional and patient teacher. His instructing style cannot be matched. His career has been spent traveling both nationally and abroad performing, competing, and training both students and teachers. Jim and his wife Jessica own and operate Paramount Ballroom, one of the largest ballroom dance studios in the city. They are strong believers in community, and helping others achieve any goal they desire and participate in as many charities as they can. Jim began dancing at young age, watching his parents dance around the kitchen. When he began training in ballroom, he fell in love immediately and never looked back. His passion has always been performing. He has performed at venues like the Folley Theatre, Dancesport competitions, other local charities, and the Lyric Opera. Jim is beyond proud to be a part of this event and looks forward to performing for another wonderful charity.
